Camp P.O.W.E.R.

Founded in 2009, Camp P.O.W.E.R., a collaboration between Groundwork and the Country Roads Foundation, seeks to encourage young people to step out of their comfort zones by trying new things, meeting new friends and building leadership skills.

The Camp, housed at Camp Starlight in Starlight, Pennsylvania, typically runs the last week in August and is staffed by Groundwork employees and Camp Starlight staff who work together to encourage the campers to take healthy risks.

So far, over 200 rising sixth through ninth graders have participated in this unique week-long sleep-away camp experience.

This year seven campers were awarded $1,400 college scholarships that could be matched over time to grow to more than $4,000 each.
