Single Stop Program Director Rosanna Cruz received an honorable mention for the New York Public Library's 2008 Brooke Russell Astor Award. She is being recognized for her efforts to help bring public benefits and other supports to the families and residents of East New York.
Rosie runs a Single Stop program that has returned more than $1,000,000 annually in benefits to residents in East New York. Benefits which otherwise would have went unclaimed.
The Groundwork United Lions boys soccer team won it's first game on Saturday, September 20 shutting out the Kickers Junior Soccer Club four-nothing.
The game was played at Grace Playground on Vermont Street and Pitkin Avenue.
